| The 1st of July 2007 is a decisive date for customers in the electric energy area as well as companies operating within the field of distribution and sale of electric energy. From this day on, electric energy consumers will be able to freely choose the seller from whom they will purchase electric energy. At the same time from that day on, existing Distribution Companies will have to divide their business activity into two independent companies: a Distribution System Operator (DSO) and an Energy Seller. The DSO will take over the business activity within the scope of electric energy distribution (transport) whereas the Energy Seller (trading enterprise) – within the scope of wholesale energy trading and selling electric energy to consumers. Such significant changes in activities of existing Distribution Companies require fundamental remodelling, designing and implementing totally new IT systems at the Distribution System Operator and the Energy Seller. The Utilities Domain proposes a new range of IT systems indispensable for an OSD and an Energy Seller.
The Utilities Domain offers four new systems for a Distribution System Operator and Energy Sellers.
Energy Sellers
Distribution System Operator
Fitting a Distribution System Operator DSO with a package of the following systems: CSS, CMS, ELMS and D3S will ensure complete IT support for all business processes which a DSO will have to carry out from the 1st of July 2007 on in order to meet legal requirements arising from the liberation of the energy market and legal separation of distribution from other activities (the so-called unbundling of the distribution of energy from the sale of energy).
