| On 22nd and 23rd October 2008, there was held a conference entitled "Energy acceleration", organized by Microsoft and WINUEL SA (Sygnity Group). During two-day presentations, there were raised key issues in terms of the business of distribution system operators (DSOs) and energy suppliers. The organizers presented a joint offer for representatives of the energy market which concerned, inter alia, issues related to the network property management and effective building of competitive advantage.
One of the lecture blocks was devoted to creation of mutual relations between DSOs and energy suppliers, which, on one hand, results from the business overlap (e.g. in case of a procedure of changing the supplier) and on the other hand is a result of unbundling, which proceeded in various ways. The reason of the above are challenges related to the distribution of customer service between DSOs and suppliers as well as an impact of this distribution on IT systems. In response to this, the organizers presented the conference participants a philosophy of building the separate IT systems for individual entities but these systems are undoubtedly interlinked.
The invitation to the conference was accepted by the representatives of the DSOs and energy suppliers' managing staff as well as persons responsible for individual issues of the basic business of both entities.
